About this position:

**There is currently 1 opening in the department. The candidate hired will be hired as a Financial Analyst or Sr. Financial Analyst, based upon qualifications, skills and organizational needs.**

Make a difference! As a Financial Analyst you will work with leadership teams to evaluate the financial implications of their operating strategy. You will assist in the development of financial plans, budgets and forecasts for the company and one or more of GreatAmerica's business units. You will analyze the performance of the company and business units to identify key trends and areas of opportunity leading to recommendations for improved growth and profitability. Your contributions to strategy, pricing, compensation plans and operational efficiency will directly impact the bottom line of the company.

Additional specific responsibilities include:

+ Assist the finance team and leadership team in the development and implementation of strategies to generate revenue, reduce costs, and improve profitability.

+ Develop decision-supporting financial models and analytical tools for internal and external audiences.

+ Provide financial advice and counsel on operating initiatives to the leadership team.

+ Continuously analyze the performance of the company and business units, identifying areas of opportunity, areas with positive and negative trends, and areas of concern. Once identified, work with the leadership team to develop and implement plans to address.

+ Perform ad hoc analysis to evaluate complex financial issues and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action based on results of analysis.

+ Make recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.

+ Assist in development of the business unit's financial models to forecast operating results, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements. Models would include annual budget and longer term (i.e. 5-10 year) financial plan.

+ Assist in monthly reporting within the business unit and to the leadership team.

+ Provides support in other key areas of the operating business units which have significant financial implications such as pricing, compensation plans, staffing levels, and structuring of unique business ventures and arrangements.

+ Proactively promote and participate in process improvement initiatives.

+ Perform other duties as required.

Position Qualifications

Education, experience and skills required:

This position requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A CPA or MBA is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. You must have exceptional analytical and problem solving skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have excellent communication skills.
