Job Description:**


SUMMARY: This position is responsible managing four basic goals: Safety, downtime, budget and overtime. Other duties include: completing work orders and preventative maintenance; supervise designated maintenance/production crew; ensure tracking of budgets and product quality; schedule maintenance crews and production orders; responsible for logs and record keeping of safety for maintenance department; perform any additional assignments deemed appropriate. Assure the proper use and operation of all equipment throughout the plant associated with the Auto Techs and related processes. Requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters including electricity and electronics, fluid power, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes. The Supervisor must over see the Auto Techs who perform high level machine and systems troubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation, and modification of integrated systems, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation.


QUALIFICATIONS: Must demonstrate skills in the area of AC/DC circuits, industrial electrical systems, and requires experience in electrical safety and lockout/tagout processes and procedures. Knowledge in the theory and application of electronic devices. Experience in troubleshooting and operation of PLC systems and microprocessors. Working knowledge and skills in tools and components used in maintenance andrepair of mechanical systems such as bearings, gears, clutches, belts, and seals. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems.


Education: Training beyond High School including either: Associate (A.S.) degree in Electronics Technology (or closely related technical field), or a combination of education and experience which may include Skilled Trades programs or military training.


Experience: Minimum 4 years automation experience and/or industrial maintenance experience; proven good safety and attendance record along with strong interpersonal skills.


Computer Skills: Competent in Windows-based software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong Skills in documentation organization, the use of technical materials, and research techniques. Must either be proficient or become proficient in SAP Maintenance.


Supervisory Responsibilities: At least 2 years of industrial maintenance background with emphasis in the Auto Technical Areas. Prior Supervisory skills are preferred.


Special Skills: High level of verbal communication, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. The ability to function effectively ina team environment, and interact productivity with all levels of management and operations personnel.


Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills; Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.


Travel: Minimum of 1-5 trips per year

**Position-Specific Requirements:**


This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility, therefore, they will be considered for the opening first. If none of those local Team Members are selected then Team Members from other Tyson locations as well as external candidates will be given consideration. Internal Candidates must have no more than a minimum attendance level of less than 6 points, and must not have received a written warning within the last 6 months. The Candidate selected for this position must be able to work extended hours as required per management.
